English

We participated in the Eighth Energy Efficiency Fair. In the forum organized within the Energy Efficiency Fair, all topics, policies and strategies including energy efficiency were evaluated with the leading names of the sector.

Specialists academicians of the subject, valuable information about the following topics are transferred to the forum. We thank them once more.

Present Situation and Predictions of Energy Efficiency in Turkey,
Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Integrated Design Approach and Urban Transformation
Energy Efficient Technologies, R & D Studies, Implemented Supports and Planning
Energy Efficiency and Management in the Industry
Financial Mechanisms, Applications and Requirements in Energy Efficiency
Energy Efficiency in Transportation
The Role of Organized Industrial Zones in Energy Efficiency
On-Site Production, Unlicensed Applications and Resource Efficiency
Successful implementations of energy efficiency of universities, Metropolitan Municipalities and Governorships

I would like to mention that I am very surprised to see some efforts to improve energy efficiency in Turkey. I wish to increase efforts to improve, and I would like to touch on the issues I am confronted with.

First of all, regulating the vital issue, such as energy efficiency, that will save billions of dollars, by the General Directorate of Renewable Energy is disappointing in terms of importance given to the issue. However, in developed countries this issue is carried out by the agencies at the level of ministries or at the authority and capacity to provide coordination. The establishment of an agency at ministry level in Turkey is on the agenda but no progress has been made. Consider that the savings that can only be gained through energy efficiency from electricity and natural gas transmission networks are estimated at $ 8.5 billion per year. It is a pity that these losses are still not taken seriously enough.

As it is known, the investments in arge in our country are well below expectations. This is another important issue that hampers our progress in energy efficiency.

It was also a pity to hear from valuable academicians that urban planning, which I have listened to repeatedly throughout my university and work life, is still regrettable today. The common view of all speakers was that it was a huge loss to bypass energy efficiency issues in the ongoing urban transformation projects. There is no planning in many transformed buildings, a lack of efficient buildings and structures, a huge loss.

A hefty complaint from the listeners was that despite the discussion of the eighth issue with the forum, there was still insufficient progress.

The main result from the forum; The issue of energy efficiency had to be managed from a strong central organization and the productivity efforts spoken over the years had to be put into practice quickly by providing the necessary finance. Despite all these sad evaluations, awareness raising, some concrete applications and development efforts were encouraging. We wish to achieve all components of the system.
