E-Commerce

English

It is thought that around 3 billion people in the world shop through e-commerce. This number is increasing day by day. Effects such as climatic conditions, busy working hours, epidemics, nature taunts, habits, seasonal densities, transportation, which force people to stay at home, bring people closer to online shopping. With the developing technology, we can place orders quickly even over our phones. In addition to the products we will buy, services are now at our fingertips. In addition to physical sales areas, each company establishes its own websites for online sales or creates sales channels through e-commerce platforms.

E-commerce; compared to traditional shopping methods, it has advantages such as cost, ease of comparison, variety of options, campaigns, instant notifications, information management, and ease of shipping and returns. More importantly, it provides access to global markets. End users' and manufacturers' access to global markets not only increases competition, but also provides commercial relief and stability in local markets. The supply-demand squeeze created by any good or service in a local market can be turned into an opportunity in other global markets. These opportunities can be evaluated for both manufacturers and end users.

E-commerce; although there are difficulties such as on-time delivery, selection of the desired quality, and user experience, manufacturers and e-commerce platforms are constantly making progress in these areas. Technological developments such as customer service support, three-dimensional showcases, virtual installations and tours provided by the platforms are spreading rapidly. The new generation's interest in digital platforms is the biggest supporter of all these developments.

World e-commerce volume has reached 5 trillion dollars. In our country, this figure is 20 billion dollars and the share of e-commerce in general exports is 3%. Despite the proximity of our country to world markets and being a transition zone, our share of global trade is very small. Developing technology, digital equipment of the younger generation and our level of global production costs will increase this share rapidly in the coming years.
