HVDC Transmission Lines

English

At the beginning of the 20th century, high voltage networks used only alternating current (AC). Today, it is also possible to operate high voltage networks with direct current, thus preventing the energy loss that occurs in alternating current. High voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission is therefore a good alternative for long transport routes. Environmentally friendly, low loss, cheap, connection to asynchronous networks, providing fast and stable networks can be counted as advantages. In our country; HVDC lines are planned for transmission connections with foreign networks, nuclear power plants, GES and RES dense regions. You can see the world HVDC lines in operation in the images.
