The map above shows LNG export points currently in operation. The map below shows LNG export points currently under construction.

The terminals currently in operation have a total capacity of 496 mtpa, while another 213 mtpa are under construction to be commissioned in the coming years. These figures suggest that global LNG export capacity will increase by approximately 50% in the near future. Given the ongoing challenges of renewable energy and electrification, it's not hard to predict that further capacity increases will be supported. With such a surge in supply, it would be misleading to expect the supply-demand balance to shift in favor of supply. Flexible LNG trade, which evolves alongside supply, will also continue to grow on the demand side.
